VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY POSITIONS
Housekeeping and Grounds Care
Water and care for potted plants and flower arrangements around the library.
Assist in the care of trees and plants on the library grounds, weed and rake grounds.
Collect trash from the library grounds and help maintain pleasant appearance.
Assist with seasonal and other building decorations.
TIME: MORNINGS 4-8HRS/WK. FLEXIBLE HOURS
Assist library patrons in use of library computers: log-in, use of Windows’ screens, document format, copying, and
printing, Help troubleshoot patron’s computer, Internet and Email problems.
TIME: TUESDAY, THURSDAY OR SATURDAY AFTERNOONS 2HR. SHIFTS FLEXIBLE HOURS
Summer Reading Programs
Greet and register summer reading program participants, distribute reading incentives, direct craft projects and assist
librarian with other program needs.
TIME: JUNE 2nd - 30th WEDNESDAY AFTERNOONS 3:00 - 5:00 pm
Assist F.O.L.K. personnel in pricing and labeling all donated books for sale events–Lobby sales, Lanai sales, etc.
Some training necessary
TIME: 2 HRS/DAY, 2 DAYS/WEEK. FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING
Assist F.O.L.K. personnel in evaluating and sorting all book donations to the library: sort according to established
criteria for publication date, subject matter, condition of item, etc. Some training required. (A true book lover’s job!)
TIME: TUESDAYS OR THURSDAYS 8:00 am to noon.
Assist F.O.L.K. personnel in creating signage (price lists, name tags, announcements, flyers), assist in flyer
distribution, update information on library bulletin boards.
TIME: 2-4 HRS/WEEK FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE
Lobby Book Sales
Coordinate the Lobby Book Sales program: working with other crew, keep shelves well stocked, arrange displays,
keep signage currant, oversee promotional lobby sale events, work with sorting crew for appropriate book selection.
TIME: 2-4 HOURS/WEEK FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING
Lanai Book Sales
Assist with book sale preparation, set-up, actual sale, tear-down and clean-up.
TIME: SECOND SATURDAY OF EVERY MONTH 7:30 am to 1:30 pm
