Aloha F.O.L.K. members and friends,
The gift giving season is upon us. We are offering you the opportunity to give a gift that changes lives. Nominate yourself or a friend to become a member of the Friends of the Libraries, Kona (F.O.L.K.) Board.
The F.O.L.K. Board is looking for a diverse group of Officers and Directors of all ages, experiences, and abilities to fulfill our mission to increase library services and resources, and literacy to the entire North and South Kona community. Officers and Directors participate in the monthly meetings of the Board. Meetings are currently the third Tuesday of the month, and the time is set to accommodate the schedule of Board Members. As Friends of the Libraries, we are a working board. Board members chair committees. It may be Ways and Means, Membership, Scholarships, Science Programs, Cultural Programs, the Book Club, or Books for Babies.
Check out the new F.O.L.K. website for more information and or contact us at folk@folkhawaii.org. Share the information with a friend who would be a great board member.
Then nominate yourself or someone else. The nominations form is under the “Get involved.” tab of the website. The nominations deadline has been extended to December 15. The slate of officers to the board is presented at it’s December 20 meeting. For the first time, members will vote virtually in early January. Miss these deadlines? You may nominate from the floor at the annual meeting on January 24, 2023. If you are a member who have not yet voted you may vote at the annual meeting before the final votes are tabulated. Can we count you in?
Looking forward to a great F.O.L.K. Board in 2023,
Shirley David, Ken Guerra, Mary Ellen Jaske,
F.O.L.K. Nominations Committee
