Travel Conversation Circle

Travel Conversation Circle or the NJABCTCC

Travel Circle Meetings are Canceled until Further Notice. We plan to bring this popular program back when space and volunteer leadership are secured. Interested in volunteering? Click here!

The Not-Just-Another-Book-Club Travel Conversation Circle (NJABCTCC) provides an opportunity for members of the community to share travel experiences, questions and ideas. This vibrant and enjoyable monthly conversation circle meets one Saturday a month to share travel experiences, highlights of recent trips, exciting destinations (and some better to avoid).

The whimsically named Not-Just-Another-Book-Club Travel Conversation Circle (NJABCTCC) was inaugurated by F.O.L.K. at the Kona Library in 2016 to provide an opportunity for members of the community to share travel experiences, questions and ideas. Unlike other travel discussion groups, this is most definitely not a book club driven by reading a particular travel book or a guest-speaker program. Instead it has become a vibrant and enjoyable monthly conversation circle, meeting one Saturday a month for two hours, sharing experiences, highlights of recent trips, exciting destinations (and some better to avoid). Some of our regulars have travel industry experience which they freely and generously share, while others simply enjoy the excitement of talking about their travels. Some travel only rarely, others seemingly almost constantly. And some simply enjoy hearing others describe their exotic travel adventures.

We include references to current library travel-related materials, the latest internet and computer resources for everything from making reservations to researching obscure travel tidbits, personal travel experiences – both recent trips and upcoming adventures in the planning stage – and getting answers to most any travel-related questions. Travel Circlers have been all over the globe, from adjacent islands to some of the most obscure corners of the world and include visits to most every country.
